Have you heard of the Chiron Return?

These past few weeks have exploded with so much introspection. It all started with my natal chart reading by the lovely Sara Elise Astrology on my birthday a few weeks back. Talk about a domino effect of kicking off a deeper curiosity of who I am and what I am doing here on this beautiful earth.

Truth

From the reading, Sara could identify some key dates in my life in the past as well as the future. Who knew it could also reveal your identity, those things that you kind of knew about yourself, but never acknowledged for fear of going down a deeper rabbit hole. This experience got even more real when she mentioned my Chiron Return would be making its appearance this year. What is a Chiron Return you ask? According to astrology, it is the placement of a small but mighty planet/comet that was present at the exact time of your birth and the ‘return’ is its full orbit which takes about 50 years to cycle through the entire zodiac. Generally it comes back to us from the ages of 46-52 and from my point of view, funnily enough coincides with a time in our lives also known as our ‘mid life crisis’.

So of course after this reading, I had to learn everything about this Chiron business. How have I never heard of this? It led me to learn about Saturn returns (around the age of 28), a period where we are pre-occupied with building our worldly comforts – career, wealth, relationships, houses etc. Whereas during the Chiron return the universe gets you to address all the issues that you may have faced (but buried) in your early years. From the formative childhood ones (inner child work anyone?) through to the fierce boss girl/superhuman mom years of I can do it all and “I’ll ignore these emotions that keep popping up because I can whack a mole them down”. Yes, you know who you are queens!

What else indeed

As I read all these articles in anticipation of my own approach to Chiron, I can see how after years of working on what you were taught was important and after achieving what you gave value to (and as I approach my own 50th year) I can see how questions continue to linger. IS THIS IT? and WHAT ELSE? And guess what, the “what else” is not the outside stuff, and it’s not even the people or relationships you hold dear or nurtured such as your husband, your kids, your parents, your friends. No, ironically my dear friend, the “what else” is ironically YOU, your insides, the really big and vast complex universe that is uniquely you.

So….here I go into the internal universe. I realize in the time I have left on this earth I need to put time into ME. All the focus I have put into building this life and my earthly possessions and working for everyone else, It now needs to be brought inwards to support the awakening within myself. Stay tuned as I start on this path and share it with you.
